My boo brought me here for a birthday dinner. I felt a bit guilty because she doesn't eat meat but she insisted. It had been a minute that I visited a true steakhouse and I was not disappointed. Due to limited street parking you must Valet. The guy is really nice though and deserves gratuity. We didn't have a reservation but we're seated promptly and we're well take care of. Our server with the little flower in her hair was 10! She was friendly, patient, just had a positive vibe. The other servers were also on top of it, constantly checking on us and clearing the table. The food was super yummy. The clam chowder, the filet steak, mashies and asparagus were all very good. Steak was cooked to perfection. My boo had some type of shrimp and she did not complain. Drinks were ok. I had the old fashion but it was not in the old fashion cup. It could of used a bit more pop to it but it did the job. It was pretty busy on a Friday evening. Everyone was in their element, lots of conversation and people seemed very content. Great night and will be returning. Thanks Taylor for a great birthday dinner.

I asked the birthday boy where I was going to take him for his 50th dinner he said Taylor's. We decided to come to the Ktown one. We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. Parking: 5/5 no street parking its KTown nough said. They have valet though I think it was like 5 bucks. Food: 5/5 $$$ the food was amazing! We started with the clam chowder and sourdough bread and butter. It was delicious. For the main I had the giant prawns with asparagus and mushrooms with some sauce. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The asparagus was cooked just like I like it just steamed and not over done but very tasty. The mushrooms were really delicious! The prawns were charbroiled but not over done and flavorful. The bday guy had the medium rare New York with mash potatoes and he loved his dinner. For the dessert I had to have the key lime which was to go cause I was full and was not gonna participate in big back activities lol the key lime which I did taste was as good as the sees key lime white chocolate (my fav). Drinks: 5/5 $ the drinks were good not sweet full of flavor and strong. I had one pomegranate tini and he had two of the old fashioned I tasted the old fashioned and it had a hit of cinnamon. Tasty and gave you the feel of the holiday spirit! Service: 5/5 our waitress was the best she was attentive and friendly. She checked on us a few times to make sure we were doing great. Plates were picked up right away after we were done and our drinks and food came out right away. The staff was very friendly. Ambiance: 5/5 Timeless is the word for the vibes here. It's a classic steakhouse. You walk into a dimly lit bar and move your way towards the main restaurant with old school retro booths (burgundy with wood) it was beautifully Christmas decorated with lights and poinsettias in every booth adding more to the charm. I was skeptical at first since I don't eat meat but they have even veggie options . For sure this place is a 5/5! Want exceptional service in a timeless steakhouse this is your spot!

I cannot lie: I first went to Taylor's Steakhouse because I saw it on The Lincoln Lawyer. Eventually, I gave up on the Netflix series--it never really hooked me, case closed--but during my binge-watch, one thing became clear: this show is a love letter to Los Angeles. In one episode, the Lincoln Lawyer (forgive me, I forgot his name) suggests meeting a cop for steak at Taylor's on 8th. Curious, I quickly looked up the restaurant. Despite being a proud foodie and Angeleno, I had never heard of it before. This surprised me. You'd think the overlap of those two identities would have given me an encyclopedic knowledge of LA's food scene. Alas, even the most seasoned explorer has blind spots. Discovering Taylor's reminded me that no matter how much you think you know, LA's dining landscape is vast. If the Titanic could sink despite being called unsinkable, I suppose it's fine to admit I still have gaps in my culinary knowledge. And, honestly, those moments of discovery are what make exploring this city so thrilling. I am now inspired to call myself the Ford Foodie. I took my mom on a dinner date. And please know that my mom is the type of person who will eat a cup of instant noodles, dress it with chicken stock and some vegetables, and she will be happy--thinking that she had elevated the noodles. She had, I am not going to lie. But I write this with detail for you all to understand that my mom knows little about food and sticks to what she knows. Everything else is foreign and thus strange, and thus easily disliked. I, on the other hand, loved Taylor's on 8th. Every single bite I had was of a true classic steakhouse. They offered the basics, well-done. I was happy to provide my hard-earned funds to this place because they helped make my night great. I will start with the baked potato--probably one of the best I ever had. How can I say that? Well, I ate the whole potato. In past times, I would eat the potato filling, the fixings, and leave most of the skin intact. Here, I ate the whole potato, skin and all. And when I really love food, it becomes a Zen experience. I picked up the potato, ate it with gusto, while my mind and I went to a happy place. I will say, though, that I had to ask for multiple fixings to make the potato blow my mind. (I should take a notebook to places to note stuff more carefully; it would make writing Yelps more easily.) But to my recollection, they brought us butter and sour cream only. I had to ask for chives, cheese, and bacon. I was given a good car, but the extra add-ons to the car (like a moonroof, Bluetooth capability, and leather interiors) made the car an adventure machine. The extra fixings that I asked for the potato made it something special, something that I could not help but devour. We then shared Taylor's Special Dinner Steak--Broiled Petite Filet Mignon, smothered in Grilled Texas Onions. And, again, it was finger-licking good. Ironically, I did not use my hands to eat this dish. On the side of the steak, I got the Bordelaise Sauce: a classic French sauce made with red wine, shallots, beef stock, and finished with butter. It was great, flavorful, and complex. I am an onion lover, so if you are too, you cannot go wrong with this particular mix. And friends, the steak was under 40 dollars. Truly a bargain, if I do say so myself. It was my first time at Taylor's, so I did not know that the desserts came on a tray, then you pick. The desserts were plastic; they did not come in a cart. I wanted to see a dessert menu, and I asked them, and they were confused. A server came to list the desserts to me. "Why can't I see a menu?" I thought. I told him, "Can I see a menu?" Then he brought the tray. Then I knew the process of this place. My mom had the soufflé. I had a sundae. My sundae had pistachio ice cream, which was a pleasure. It had some hot fudge and some nuts--well, everything that you expect on a classic sundae. But they made the classics sing. I guess Taylor's is a traditional steakhouse with a few surprises. I am definitely going to go again. I hope I see you there! Maybe we can share the Kansas City Sirloin. I have never had it, and it sounds interesting. This is one of the surprises that I am talking about. One last note: their Saturday evening was packed. They found a table for us, a forgotten table, way in a corner. It was okay, but if I were going to dine with someone else--not my mom--different seating would be needed. She said that there was a draft there. She now has a bug. I did not notice the draft. I did notice the noir vibe of the place. Glamorous and chic--just like a girl dressed in her pretty black dress!

Celebrating Friendship. We absolutely loved the Tomahawk. The service is great. The drinks were better only complaint the ice cold air flowing down on our very hot dinner. The only thing keeping this review from five stars.

It's a legend. A place to step into to get a feel of an old steakhouse. Yes, there is better quality steak and prime rib out there. But they don't always come with that great old school vibe. I had my bachelor party here, and I had so much fun I don't even remember what I ordered. Great service, great ambiance. What's not to like? Maybe two things: when you make a reservation, request a booth or table downstairs or you may get seated upstairs, which has zero vibe. And if you sit at bar, avoid the right side: they have a bright light in the wine refrigerator that shines right in your face. Yes, they should swap it out with smaller bulb. Or you could block it with your old fashioned and keep having fun.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I just want to know what drug jesse is on so that I can start taking it. This guy and not just him, but the entire team juggle a bunch of drunk people waiting for tables like champs. I come here at least once a week. And they are so busy, and it's unbelievable how jesse and the entire staff keep up with everybody, and not only that have such amazing personalities to go along with their high energy. I'm typically anti drug, but i'm willing to start using if it means I can be as kind and patient and high energy like jesse, except take out the kind part because I don't want to be kind but all else is fine. Ps. I reallyI have never been a lobster person, but i've been addicted to their lobster.Literally, I have to have it at least once a week. It's amazing you must try.

This was a very old school, traditional steakhouse with dim lighting, fuzzy booths and large paintings. The pricing was very fair, with sides being as cheap as $3 for mashed potatoes and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and came pre-cut, which I appreciated. The Caesar salad was not noteworthy. It was just okay. The deep fried calamari was amazing. It came out piping hot, the breading was thin, and the calamari was fried to perfection. It was not rubbery and was incredibly soft. The steak was immaculate. Fatty, salty, and melted in your house. The porterhouse was plenty to share for two people with large appetites. If you want an authentic steakhouse that feels like you're paying for real food rather than for a fancy ambiance, this is the steakhouse to go to. I wish the sides were a little tastier, but the meat did not disappoint.

Taylors primer steak house. The coziest intermite place for steaks drinks and good times. First they offer variety of prime cuts for everyone's favorite occasion. After a long day we just wanted a place to eat with finesse and sophistication. They offer a generous menu of fine wine and spirits. The seafood selection can lure the most robust conissoiur to perfection. Friendly staff with valet secure parking reservations are encouraged. I'm very confident and delighted you will have an epic ultimate experience.
